Spin dynamics of an ultra-small nanoscale molecular magnet

چکیده
We present mathematical transformations which allow us to calculate the spin dynamics of an ultrasmall nanoscale molecular magnet consisting of a dimer system of classical (high) Heisenberg spins. We derive exact analytic expressions (in integral form) for the timedependent spin autocorrelation function and several other quantities. The properties of the time-dependent spin autocorrelation function in terms of various coupling parameters and temperature are discussed in detail.

Spin-polarized transport through single-molecule magnet Mn6 complexes.
The coherent transport properties of a device, constructed by sandwiching a Mn6 single-molecule magnet between two gold surfaces, are studied theoretically by using the non-equilibrium Green's function approach combined with density functional theory. Two spin states of such Mn6 complexes are explored, namely the ferromagnetically coupled configuration of the six Mn(III) cations, leading to the...
متن کاملJosephson current through a quantum dot coupled to a molecular magnet
Josephson currents are carried by sharp Andreev states within the superconducting energy gap. We theoretically study the electronic transport of a magnetically tunable nanoscale junction consisting of a quantum dot connected to two superconducting leads and coupled to the spin of a molecular magnet. The exchange interaction between the molecular magnet and the quantum dot modifies the Andreev s...
متن کاملMolecular Dynamics Simulations of Freezing Behavior of Pure Water and 14% Water-NaCl Mixture Using the Coarse-Grained Model
We performed molecular dynamics simulations using the coarse-grained model to study the freezing behavior of pure water and 14% water-salt mixture in a wide range of temperatures for a very long time around 50 nanoseconds. For the salty water, an interface in nanoscale was used. For both systems, the f...
متن کاملMolecular Dynamics Simulation of Water in Single WallCarbon Nanotube
The overall aim of this study is to calculate some water properties in the single wall carbon naotubes (SWCNT) and compare them to the bulk water properties to investigate the deviation of water properties inside the SWCNT from those in the bulk. Here some physical and transport properties of water molecules in the single wall carbon nanotube were reported by performing molecular dynamics (MD) ...
متن کاملObservation of zero-point quantum fluctuations of a single-molecule magnet through the relaxation of its nuclear spin bath.
A single-molecule magnet placed in a magnetic field perpendicular to its anisotropy axis can be truncated to an effective two-level system, with easily tunable energy splitting. The quantum coherence of the molecular spin is largely determined by the dynamics of the surrounding nuclear spin bath. Here we report the measurement of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1n in a single crysta...
